About:

Auckland University of Technology is a new Zealand based University formed in year 2000. AUT was originally established as Auckland Technical School offering only evening classes. The name was changed to Auckland Technical College in 1906 when daytime classes started being offered. AUT offers sub-degree qualifications such as Diplomas and Certificates, and degree programs such as Undergraduate, Postgraduate as well as PhD. The programs are offered in a wide range of field such as applied science, business, design, computes and IT, and so on.

 

Campus and Campus Life

AUT has three campuses located in The City, The North and the South. The Training Institute, Millennium Campus and the North campuses also offer accommodations. The City campus is situated on Wellesley East Street and delivers the most academic units and central administration. Facilities such as Gym, International Student centre, Early childhood center, Postgraduate center are present in the City Campus. The South Campus of AUT was established in 2010 and was the first University campus in the region. It offers UG and PG courses in business, computers, health education as well as Sports management and science. The South Campus has its own library and facilities such as student lounges, student information centers, computer labs, cafes and wireless network. The Astro Turf of the campus is used for sports like, volleyball, basketball, tennis and soccer. The North Campus is situated in the northcote. The Faculty of Health and Environmental Sciences and School of Education are based out of this campus with park-like grounds. AUT’s main sport and fitness centre is situated at the campus, comprising of a gym, weights room, testing equipment, golf swing clinic, and indoor courts. The campus comprises of a library, student services centre, early childhood centre, AuSM branch, PrintSprint shop, health counseling and wellbeing centre, university bookshop and food outlets. The AUT Millennium is also located at the North shore, offering sports training and hosting local and national sports organizations such as Swimming New Zealand.
