About:

The University of Waterloo has its origins back in 1925, when the university was earlier known as Waterloo College, affiliated with University of Western Ontario. It was later on separated from the Waterloo College and was incorporated as a University. University of Waterloo is a member of research intensive group of universities in Canada called U15.

Campus and Campus life:

The campus of University of Waterloo is spread on 404 hectares of land. The University renders academic programs regulated by six faculties and thirteen faculty based schools. With over 20,000 undergraduate students enrolled in the university, Waterloo has the largest post secondary co-operative education system in the world. The university has over 30,600 undergrad and 5300 postgraduate students enrolled, and its former and alumni students can be found all over Canada and 150 other countries. The University also runs 3 satellite campuses 4 affiliated university colleges. The university’s main campus was divided in three major areas; namely: South Campus, North Campus and Northwest Campus. South Campus is called the academic core of the university, while the North Campus has the Research and Technology Park. The Northwest campus comprises primarily of farm fields and an environmental reserve, hence being the least developed area of the campus. The University comprises of four libraries out of which three are on campus while the fourth one is in Cambridge.

The University of Waterloo is a public funded research based university and operates on a term based system. The university has 6 academic faculties, which operate through thirteen different schools. The academic faculties are:
