About Maynooth University

Located 25 kilometres outside of Dublin, Ireland’s Maynooth University is an internationally recognised institution.Formerly known as The National University of Ireland, Maynooth (NIUM) now commonly known as Maynooth University. It is one of the fastest growing institutions in spite of being only 20 years old. Maynooth University has been ranked #50 in the Global Top 100 Universities under 50 years old in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings. Today, Maynooth University is a place of lively contrasts – a modern, dynamic, rapidly-growing, research-led institution and engaged, yet grounded in historic academic strengths and scholarly traditions.

Campus & Student Life

The campus is a vibrant place with a wide variety of activities open to all our students. At Maynooth University they include a strong and innovative academic experience as well as they provide various activities that help the personal development of their students.The Office of Student Engagement aims to ensure that the students have a great start to their university journey whilst encouraging them to avail of the many opportunities open to them. The Office oversees the New Student Orientation Programme and student volunteering as well as developing and supporting other initiatives and opportunities in the areas of community engagement, and student leadership.
From the brand new library located in the heart of the campus, to the range of lecture theaters and labs, cafes, restaurants and bookshop, you’ll find Maynooth is a great place to be.The campus has around 8 cafes and restaurants. The libraries have a collection of over 450,000 books and 42,000 electric journals. Photocopying and Postal services are also available on the campus. Student lockers are also made available on rent per academic year to students on a first come first serve basis. Students are also helped to secure job opportunities on campus.

Accommodation

The campus accommodation at Maynooth is classified into Village apartments, River apartments, Rye Hall apartments, Courtyard apartments. Study rooms, washers, dryers, lifts, stairs, etc. are available for most of the accommodations but students are advised to check thoroughly and then book their accommodation.
